I made some pulled beef today. It's basically a bunch of meat, in a sauce, that cooks until the fibers in the meat fall apart.
- 1 Lb Critter - cut in 1-1.5 inch cubes.(I used beef)
- 1 Can Cream of Mushroom soup
- White Wine
- Freshly ground pepper (coarse)
Put the beef and cream of mushroom soup in a pot, and heat om medium. Use a 1/2 can (the can being the cream of mushroom soup's can) of the wine to clean out any left overs, and pour it all in the pot too. Add a big pinch of salt, and some pepper.
Let it cook till it starts to simmer, and then cover and lower the heat to medium low. Now is a good time to move it to a crock pot if you desire.
Let cook covered for a few hours stirring every 30 minutes or so Till the meat pulls apart easily. If the contents start to brown too much, add some water to thin it out, but you do want it to thicken up, so don't add too much. It should be at the right consistency after 2 hours of cooking, so after that just add water to maintain that consistency.
Once everything is good, stir the contents of the pot (breaking up the chunks of meat) salt to taste, and serve on a bun.
